en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Albany Engineered Composites announced the specific scope of supply under its extended contract with Boeing for the manufacture of composite fuselage frames for the 787 Dreamliner. Under the agreement, Albany will continue to produce approximately 300 different composite fuselage frames for the 787, covering forward fuselage Section 41, Section 43, and aft fuselage Section 47, with production continuing at its facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

Albany has produced composite frames for Sections 41 and 43 of the 787 since receiving its initial contract from Boeing in 2014. In 2020, the previous round of contract adjustments expanded Albany's scope of supply to include aft fuselage Section 47, and the company has since provided related composite frames for all three 787 variants.

This contract extension had already been incorporated into the operational adjustment arrangements of Albany's parent company. On September 1, Albany International concluded its strategic review of the Amelia Earhart Drive facility in Salt Lake City and decided to retain the site. At that time, the company confirmed it was renegotiating the Boeing 787 one-piece composite fuselage frame contract while also adjusting contracts related to the Sikorsky CH-53K program.

The Salt Lake City facility will continue to handle 787 frame production. In the agreement details released on September 3, Albany specified the scope of supply covering approximately 300 frame types and Sections 41, 43, and 47, but did not disclose the contract value or specific expiration date following this extension.
