Peterson Exercises Option to Extend Charter by 100 Days into Early 2027
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Norwegian offshore service vessel operator Golden Energy Offshore Services announced that Peterson has exercised an additional one-well option for the platform supply vessel Energy Paradise. The additional work period is expected to last approximately 100 days, with a contract value of approximately USD 3.4 million, and will commence directly upon completion of the existing well program, extending the vessel's firm work schedule into late January or early February 2027. The existing work program is expected to be completed in mid-October 2026.

This exercise relates to a follow-on option under an existing contract, rather than a newly signed standalone long-term charter. Following completion of the additional 100-day work period, Peterson still retains one one-well option for Energy Paradise, with a potential contract value of approximately USD 2.5 million, which has not yet been converted into a firm contract. According to the contract arrangements disclosed by Golden Energy Offshore Services, the additional USD 3.4 million for Energy Paradise has been included in the firm backlog, while the remaining USD 2.5 million remains contingent on whether the subsequent option is formally exercised.
Energy Paradise is a 2015-built Ulstein PX121 platform supply vessel owned by Golden Energy Offshore Services and currently chartered to Peterson Den Helder. The vessel is equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system, a total main engine power of 7,200 brake horsepower, a deck area of 850 square meters, a bulk cargo capacity of 255 cubic meters, a mud capacity of 1,163 cubic meters, and FiFi 1 firefighting capability. The vessel's port of registry is Alesund, Norway, and Golden Energy Offshore Services' latest charter information lists its next available port as Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
Golden Energy Offshore Services also disclosed that its other platform supply vessel, Energy Pace, secured a term contract on July 29. The combined value of the currently firm contracts for Energy Pace and Energy Paradise is approximately USD 10.3 million; if all remaining contract options for both vessels are exercised, the combined potential contract value would increase to approximately USD 19.8 million. This figure includes unexercised options, and therefore the USD 19.8 million should not be regarded as the currently confirmed contract amount.
Golden Energy Offshore Services' vessel records show that Energy Paradise has continuously performed offshore supply duties for Peterson Den Helder. This option exercise extends the existing work chain from mid-October 2026 by approximately 100 days, and the contract phase has shifted from "optional option" to a firm execution period; the remaining one-well option remains unexercised.
