Neoenergia Commissions 202 Sets of Distributed PV Systems in Brazil
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 16, Iberdrola disclosed that its Brazilian subsidiary Neoenergia's distribution company Neoenergia Elektro commissioned 202 sets of distributed PV systems in Brazil between January and July 2026, with a total installed capacity of 605.8 kWp and a total project investment of approximately BRL 3 million, covering public schools, hospitals, primary healthcare facilities, and low-income household residences, benefiting more than 83,500 people. The project was implemented through the Neoenergia Elektro Energy Efficiency Program and is regulated by the Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).

Among them, 195 residential PV systems were installed in the Jardim Marília residential area in Pirassununga and the Arnaldo dos Santos residential area in Santa Rita do Passa Quatro. Neoenergia Elektro conducted technical assessments based on the electricity consumption of low-income households and rooftop installation conditions, and installed PV equipment free of charge for selected households. Different residences were equipped with 2 to 4 modules depending on their electricity consumption, with a total of 507 PV modules installed across the two residential areas.
These residential systems are expected to generate a combined total of more than 353,000 kWh per year. Neoenergia Elektro also plans to provide electricity usage training for households with installed PV systems in the second half of 2026, covering system operation and energy consumption management.
The remaining PV projects were deployed at public service facilities, including the UPA Armando José Prado Barone emergency care facility in Ilha Comprida, the Macedônia primary healthcare facility and two schools, the Doutor Manoel Perez Bazan primary healthcare facility in Miracatu, the Riversul Municipal Hospital, and the Vargem Grande do Sul Charity Hospital. The projects cover a total of seven cities: Ilha Comprida, Macedônia, Miracatu, Pirassununga, Riversul, Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, and Vargem Grande do Sul.
Neoenergia disclosed that the annual power generation of all 202 systems is estimated to meet the electricity needs of approximately 370 properties for one year. This installation is not a single centralized power plant construction, but rather a batch PV project composed of distributed systems on residential rooftops and at public institutions. All 202 systems have now been installed and put into operation.
