Rotary Rig Count Stable In US, Falls In Canada

Wedoany.com Report-Nov 9, The weekly rig count was steady for the US and its waters while Canada's count fell slightly, according to Baker Hughes Inc., Houston.

There were 585 rotary rigs working in the US and its waters compared to 616 for the comparable period a year ago. The count is unchanged from last week. 

In Canada, the rig count fell 6 to 207 from last week's total of 213. A year ago, Canada's count was 199.

Of the rigs working in the US and its waters this week, 479 were drilling for oil; 102 were drilling for gas; and 4 were unclassified. There were 569 rigs on land, 2 in inland waters, and 14 offshore. 

The count in Oklahoma rose 2 from last week to 44; Wyoming rose by 1 for a total of 18, and Pennsylvania rose 1 to 14. Louisiana lost 3 rigs to end the week with 33 working. Colorado dropped a single unit to leave 11 rigs working for the week.
