China Southern Airlines Logistics and Samsung SDS Sign Air Logistics Cooperation Memorandum

(Samsung SDS), a subsidiary of the Samsung Group, signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Guangzhou, Guangdong, formally establishing a strategic cooperative relationship. According to the memorandum, the two parties will cooperate in areas such as international air logistics and integrated supply chain solutions. The cooperation is currently at the stage of a strategic cooperation memorandum. The memorandum did not disclose specific cooperation projects, investment amounts, route arrangements, or implementation timelines.

China Southern Airlines Logistics' existing businesses include air express, ground integrated services, and supply chain solutions. It operates 19 B777F full-freighter aircraft and uses China Southern Airlines' passenger aircraft bellyhold cargo resources to conduct air transport operations. The company operates 16 self-owned cargo terminals in 13 domestic cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Urumqi. The total floor area of the cargo terminal warehouse zones exceeds 300,000 square meters, with an annual handling capacity of more than 2.3 million tons. Its route network uses Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and other locations as major nodes, covering Asia and connecting to markets in Europe, the Americas, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Samsung SDS currently regards digital logistics as one of its core business segments. Its business covers international transport, inland transport, warehousing and distribution, e-commerce logistics, and project logistics, and it provides supply chain operation services through the Cello and Cello Square platforms. Its international logistics system covers 36 countries and more than 300 operating locations, and can provide end-to-end services including air, sea, rail, and road transport, as well as warehousing, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.

The cooperation areas defined in this memorandum correspond to the existing businesses of the two parties in air trunk-line transport and global integrated logistics operations, respectively. Among them, China Southern Airlines Logistics has full-freighter aircraft, passenger aircraft bellyhold capacity, and domestic cargo terminal resources; Samsung SDS's existing logistics system covers international transport, warehousing, inland transport, and last-mile delivery, and conducts transport management, cargo tracking, and supply chain operations through its digital logistics platform. Subsequent specific cooperation content shall still be subject to the projects and business arrangements further determined by both parties.
