Rising electricity demand and accelerating industrial decarbonization are making the operations and expansion of logistics real estate and data centers increasingly reliant on infrastructure and clean energy. This investment extends ESR's business into these increasingly interconnected areas and enhances its ability to offer capital partners broader access to resilient real asset investment solutions.

Aquila Clean Energy APAC's portfolio totals 1.6 GW and is distributed across key Asia-Pacific markets including Australia and New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, comprising operating, under-construction and advanced development-stage assets. ESR believes the portfolio offers room for capital deployment and value creation, complements its regional footprint, and can generate strong synergies with its logistics real estate and data center businesses. Upon completion of the acquisition, ESR will further strengthen its ability to supply renewable energy investment opportunities, building on its existing solar and battery storage businesses and project pipeline.

Phil Pearce, President of ESR, noted that ESR has entered a new growth phase focused on industries that underpin resilient supply chains, the digital economy and long-term economic development. Logistics infrastructure, data centers and power demand are increasingly intertwined, presenting significant opportunities at the intersection, and energy infrastructure is becoming increasingly attractive for long-term capital deployment.

Apurv Choudhary, Head of ESR Infrastructure Group, said that Aquila Clean Energy APAC has an experienced team and holds high-quality, diversified renewable energy assets in key Asia-Pacific markets that are strategically adjacent to ESR's footprint. Leveraging ESR's platform capabilities, ESR plans to significantly scale up the Aquila Clean Energy platform while maintaining a strong focus on returns and execution discipline, bringing attractive investment opportunities to capital partners.

Following closing, ESR intends to work closely with the Aquila Clean Energy APAC management team to accelerate growth, scale up investment solutions and capture opportunities across ESR's Asia-Pacific platform.

Roman Rosslenbroich, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Aquila Group, said that the Aquila Clean Energy APAC team has built a clean energy platform covering the most attractive markets in Asia-Pacific, spanning solar, wind and battery storage, and that he is proud of the platform. ESR, as one of the region's leading real asset owners, has chosen to acquire this platform, recognizing Aquila Group's ability to attract outstanding management teams and build category-leading industrial platforms.
