en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 28, Rolls-Royce announced that it will invest £300 million in its UK manufacturing and engineering facilities, covering both civil aerospace and defense businesses. The investment will be used for new construction and upgrades of manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and digital infrastructure, with expansions or equipment upgrades to be carried out at multiple sites including Derby, Bristol, Inchinnan in Scotland, Rotherham, and Ansty in Warwickshire.

Derby is the core base of Rolls-Royce's civil aerospace business. The company will invest more than £140 million there to build new engineering and manufacturing services facilities and expand aftermarket support capabilities, with the related projects scheduled for completion in 2028. The site is responsible for the design, engineering, project management, and advanced manufacturing of the Trent series of large commercial aero engines, and also has engine testing and precision casting capabilities.

The Bristol site will receive more than £90 million in investment to upgrade defense power and propulsion facilities, with the project scheduled for completion in 2031. The upgrades include collaborative workspaces, IT infrastructure, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities. The site currently participates in work related to the MT30 marine gas turbine, the Eurofighter EJ200 engine, and power systems for the Global Combat Air Programme.

Of the remaining investment, the Inchinnan site in Scotland will receive £43 million for new equipment to manufacture new engine components; the Rotherham advanced blade casting facility will receive £19 million in company investment, supplemented by £2 million in support from the South Yorkshire local government, with plans to double advanced turbine blade production by 2030; and the Ansty site will receive £5 million to upgrade manufacturing equipment.

Rolls-Royce disclosed that since launching its transformation program in 2023, the company has invested more than £3 billion cumulatively in the UK. In 2025, the company procured more than £2.8 billion worth of products and services from UK suppliers.
