Germany's DEPRAG Plans to Invest INR 100 Million to Expand India Automation Equipment Capabilities

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 24, German industrial automation company DEPRAG SCHULZ announced plans to invest INR 80 million to 100 million in India to expand its local manufacturing, engineering, and customer service capabilities. The company has established DEPRAG India Pvt Ltd and plans to begin local assembly of some automation systems within the next 4 to 6 months, with the first phase focusing on industrial tightening systems, parts feeding systems, and assembly automation equipment. DEPRAG had previously operated in the Indian market for more than 21 years through local partner Leaptech Corporation. With the establishment of a directly operated entity, it will further transfer engineering and assembly capabilities to India.

DEPRAG's expansion this time focuses on customers in India's automotive, electronics, electrical equipment, and industrial manufacturing sectors. The company's product portfolio covers automatic tightening equipment, feeding and handling systems, assembly cells, press-fitting equipment, and complete automated assembly lines, and can be configured with manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic stations according to customers' production takt time. Its assembly systems can also integrate robots, inspection and measurement, process traceability, and production data management for parts assembly, quality control, and production line automation.

In the field of automatic tightening, DEPRAG can provide modular solutions ranging from standalone tightening units to complete automatic tightening equipment, along with screw feeding and control systems. Among them, the DCAM compact assembly module adopts a programmable axis design and can be expanded into an automated production cell according to changes in output, and is currently used in volume manufacturing scenarios such as electronic products. The company's control system also supports connection with factory management systems such as SCADA and MES to enable recording and traceability of tightening results, equipment status, and production data.

This investment will first establish local assembly capabilities in India while strengthening engineering support and after-sales service. With the start of local assembly, some of DEPRAG's automation equipment can complete system integration and delivery in India, shortening the supply cycle for imported equipment and further expanding its business coverage in India's industrial automation equipment market.
