Swiss Turbocharger System Manufacturer Accelleron Lands Project for Over 100 Turbochargers

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 24, Swiss turbocharger system manufacturer Accelleron announced that its new-generation ACCX300-L low-speed turbocharger has entered more than 100 equipment projects within four months since its commercial release in April 2026. The related projects cover shipowners, engine manufacturers, and shipyards worldwide, primarily supporting large two-stroke marine engines. The first units are scheduled to begin delivery in March 2027.

The ACCX300-L platform includes two models, the ACCX365-L and ACCX370-L. Accelleron has simplified its original five frame sizes into two to cover low-speed two-stroke engines across different power ratings. The series adopts a modular cartridge structure, allowing the complete rotating assembly to be replaced directly at port during maintenance, reducing the scope of equipment disassembly and ship downtime for maintenance. Major two-stroke engine designers have already incorporated the ACCX300-L into their engine configuration systems, and engine manufacturers and shipyards in China and South Korea have also selected the series for newbuilding projects.

The platform supports both single-turbocharger and twin-turbocharger arrangements. For twin-unit configurations, the system can automatically cut in or cut out one of the turbochargers based on engine load, keeping the operating unit closer to its high-efficiency range during low-load voyages. It is primarily aimed at fuel consumption control for large commercial vessels under slow-steaming conditions. Each unit will also come standard with Turbo Insights data functionality, which can connect to Accelleron's Turbo MarineCare service system for condition monitoring, maintenance interval determination, and full lifecycle maintenance planning.

The ACCX300-L was officially launched in April 2026 after completing qualification verification. The more than 100 units disclosed by Accelleron this time cover multiple projects, but the company has not publicly disclosed specific shipowners, vessel types, per-vessel configuration quantities, or contract amounts. As the first products enter the delivery phase in 2027, the series will officially enter large-scale onboard application.
