en.Wedoany.com Reported - Transaction documents disclosed on October 16 show that Shell has reached a proposed agreement with Irish energy distribution company DCC Energy for the sale of its fuel retail and related transport fuel services business in France. The transaction involves the transfer of approximately 70 service station sites, 8 liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, and 35 employees. The two parties have not yet finalized the transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2027, and the arrangements are subject to employee representative consultation procedures.

Under the proposed transaction arrangements, DCC Energy will be responsible for operating the relevant sites after the acquisition is completed and will continue to use the Shell brand through a long-term brand licensing agreement. Shell's core fuel supply business is not included in this sale, and DCC Energy will need to procure fuel independently. The businesses to be transferred also cover fuel services related to transportation, and the acquirer will assume subsequent operation of the corresponding sites and facilities.

Shell has confirmed that it is considering the sale of its service station retail business in France but declined to comment further on the transaction details, and DCC Energy also did not comment on the proposed acquisition. Shell plans to concentrate its fuel retail and charging businesses in key markets such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, which contribute the majority of the cash flow from its related operations.
