en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 16, Canadian natural gas exploration and development company NG Energy International announced that the Aruchara-6 gas well in Colombia's Maria Conchita block has completed drilling, completion, and connection to the central processing facility, and has officially commenced production. The well's initial test recorded a peak natural gas production rate of 8.7 million cubic feet per day (approximately 246,000 cubic meters). The company expects that with the new well in production, the block's natural gas output will increase from 16 million cubic feet per day to 23 million cubic feet per day. The company also disclosed that the Encantado-1X well in the Sinú-9 block was spudded on October 6.

The Aruchara-6 well was drilled to a total depth of 9,352 feet (approximately 2,850 meters), encountering the targeted H1 reservoir and identifying gas indications in the H2 through H6 intervals through surface gas shows and wireline log records. Initial production testing was conducted through the existing central processing facility using a 30/64-inch choke, with an average tubing head pressure of 780 psi. Based on NG Energy's 80% economic interest in the Maria Conchita block, the well's peak tested net production rate was 6.96 million cubic feet per day. Following completion, natural gas has entered the Colombian market through the processing facility.

The existing central processing facility in the Maria Conchita block has a designed processing capacity of 30 million cubic feet per day. With the new well connected, infrastructure partner GTX International is carrying out upgrades to the processing facility, with plans to install an additional compressor by the end of October and complete modifications to the heat exchange, cooling, and dehydration facilities. NG Energy's existing natural gas sales contract in the block covers up to 15 million cubic feet per day of production. Incremental gas volumes exceeding the contracted quantity are entering the Colombian spot market, where recent average selling prices have been approximately USD 14 to 16 per thousand cubic feet, with some sales exceeding USD 20.

The Encantado-1X well in the Sinú-9 block is being drilled by Maurel & Prom Colombia, with the objective of verifying the southern reservoir boundary, formation depth, and gas presence in the Pre-CDO interval of the block, while also evaluating the potential for liquid hydrocarbons in the reservoir fluids. NG Energy expects that after this well is completed, the consortium will drill at least one additional well within 2026.

Supporting pipeline works have also progressed. The first parallel pipeline at the Jobo connection point in the Sinú-9 block, constructed by INFRAES, has completed commissioning, increasing the block's total gas transportation capacity from 30 million cubic feet per day to 40 million–45 million cubic feet per day. Based on the company's corresponding interest, its net transportation capacity is 15.6 million to 17.6 million cubic feet per day. NG Energy expects that with the commissioning of the new well at Maria Conchita and the increased transportation capacity at Sinú-9, the company's combined net natural gas production from the two blocks will reach 29.1 million cubic feet per day.
