en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 18, Brian McClay, President and CEO of Canadian mineral exploration company Golden Pursuit Resources, disclosed that the company is seeking funding partners for its Gordon Lake gold project in the Northwest Territories, with plans to carry out a phased drilling program totaling approximately 200,000 meters. The next phase is expected to require US$10 million to US$20 million, with a minimum funding commitment from partners estimated at US$10 million. The large-scale drilling schedule will be aligned with progress on the all-season road to the project area.

The Gordon Lake project is located approximately 80 to 90 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories of Canada, covering an area of 6,850 hectares. It comprises 18 territorial mineral claims, 13 federal mineral claims and 5 historical mining leases, all wholly held by Golden Pursuit. The project area hosts numerous historical gold mines and mineralized targets, with key exploration targets including the Kidney Pond, Myrt Lake and Burnt Island areas. Existing historical drilling, underground workings and mineralization records will be used to determine subsequent drill hole locations, while historical resource data still require verification through modern drilling and evaluation work.

Golden Pursuit launched a new round of exploration at the property in 2026, planning a 1,500 line-kilometer drone-borne aeromagnetic survey, along with rock sampling and geochemical analysis. In an October interview, the company disclosed that approximately 500 rock samples had been collected and measured for magnetic susceptibility this year; it has also compiled approximately 10,700 meters of historical core data, which it plans to re-analyze using assisted digitalization technology. The geophysical survey results will be used to identify subsurface structures, magnetic anomalies and potential mineralized targets, and to prioritize subsequent drilling.

Gordon Lake currently relies mainly on air transport for drilling equipment and personnel. McClay estimates that current drilling costs are approximately US$1,000 to US$1,200 per meter, and that construction of an all-season road could reduce costs by approximately US$200 per meter. The company is monitoring progress on transportation infrastructure connecting the existing road network to the project area. According to its disclosed arrangements, construction of the proposed road has not yet begun, and Golden Pursuit plans to advance large-scale drilling financing and partnership discussions once transportation conditions improve.

Historical drill hole data previously published by Golden Pursuit show that the Kidney Pond area recorded a mineralized interval of approximately 46 meters with gold grades of 4.5 to 6 g/t; historical deep drilling at the property also recorded a high-grade mineralized interval of approximately 6.6 meters with gold grades of approximately 90 g/t. These results are historical exploration data and have not yet formed a current mineral resource estimate compliant with Canada's NI 43-101 standards.
