Canada's Vizsla Copper Launches 2,000-Metre Copper-Gold Drilling

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 19, Canadian mining company Vizsla Copper announced that it has launched its first diamond core drilling program at the Copperview copper-gold project in British Columbia, planning to drill more than 2,000 metres, with a focus on testing the previously undrilled M5 target. Two diamond drill rigs are now on site, and the first two holes are being drilled. The project covers 11,630 hectares and is located approximately 40 kilometres north of Princeton, and the company holds a 100% interest in the project.

The M5 target was defined by ground and airborne geophysical surveys, and this drilling program will cover an area of approximately 1,500 metres by 800 metres. Geophysical data show that the target contains a high-chargeability anomaly zone about 2.5 kilometres long and 1.4 kilometres wide, with chargeability exceeding 20 millivolts per volt, trending northwest to southeast overall. The core of the anomaly also exhibits high conductivity and low resistivity, and coincides with a low magnetic anomaly within a regional magnetic anomaly belt. The M5 target is located approximately 6.5 kilometres north of the Gate mineralized discovery area of Kodiak Copper's MPD project.

Vizsla Copper has also completed the 2026 Phase 2 drilling program at the Poplar copper-molybdenum project in central British Columbia, drilling more than 8,800 metres in total across 17 holes along the Thira alteration corridor. Combined with the more than 11,200 metres drilled in Phase 1, the project has seen approximately 20,000 metres of drilling this year, and assay results for the completed Phase 2 holes are pending announcement.

Phase 1 drilling at Poplar previously returned a 304.8-metre mineralized interval grading 0.48% copper equivalent in hole TH26-154, including a higher-grade interval of 45 metres grading 0.58% copper equivalent. The 304.8-metre mineralized interval graded 0.29% copper and 0.022% molybdenum, along with 1.02 grams per tonne of silver and 0.05 grams per tonne of gold. The company plans a total of approximately 40,000 metres of drilling across its copper project portfolio in 2026.
