Sweden's Svea Mining Completes Exploration of Approximately 7,500 Hectares of Gold-Copper-Silver Deposits
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swedish mining company Svea Mining announced the completion of first-phase field exploration work at two projects in the Skellefteå mining district in northern Sweden, covering approximately 7,000 hectares at the Kalvträsk project and 451.93 hectares at the Stöverfors project. The exploration focused on systematic soil sampling, rock sampling, and geological mapping of gold, copper, and silver mineralized areas. All samples have been submitted to an independent accredited laboratory for analysis, and the company plans to determine drill targets for the next phase based on assay results.
Both projects are located in the Skellefteå metallogenic belt in Västerbotten County, Sweden. Exploration personnel collected soil samples according to a predetermined grid, conducted rock chip and hand specimen sampling of known mineralized outcrops and mineralized boulders, and recorded rock types, geological structures, alteration characteristics, and surface mineralization. All sampling points were recorded with satellite positioning coordinates, and samples were numbered, sealed, and managed through transport handover procedures before being sent to the laboratory.
Historical exploration at the Kalvträsk project discovered 4 gold-mineralized boulders with gold grades ranging from 4–20 g/t. The current program focused on geochemical surveys around historical mineralization locations to identify the bedrock source of the mineralized boulders. Company records indicate that no drilling verification has previously been conducted at the project.
The Stöverfors project is located near the municipality of Skellefteå, approximately 30 kilometers from the city center. The Geological Survey of Sweden has registered two mineralized occurrences in the area, with historical hand specimens of arsenopyrite-bearing quartz veins grading up to approximately 32 g/t gold. The current survey covered known mineralization locations and surrounding surface areas, and the data collected will be used to identify the spatial relationship between gold, copper, and silver geochemical anomalies and associated geological structures. The above gold grade data are all from historical samples and are not new assay results from the current sampling.
Svea Mining's next phase plans to combine laboratory assay data and geological mapping results to prioritize drill targets and develop drilling programs. The company will arrange follow-up drilling based on financing conditions, relevant permits, and operational schedules. As of the official announcement on October 14, assay results for both projects have not yet been published, and the number of drill holes, total meterage, and implementation timeline have not been determined.
