en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 20, Canadian mining company Millennial Potash announced the results of Phase 2 drilling at its Bani O potash project in Gabon. After the BA-006 hole in the northern target area was deepened to 735.32 meters, approximately 40 meters of additional potash mineralized zones were discovered, increasing the hole's cumulative mineralized thickness from approximately 80 meters to 120 meters, a 50% increase. The hole passed through a total of 9 evaporite cycles containing potash mineralization, two of which had not previously been identified in drilling at the project.

The BA-006 hole is located approximately 4 kilometers west of the BA-001 hole and primarily serves to verify the westward and southward extension of potash mineralization in the northern target area. The latest core records show that the mineralized zones are mainly composed of alternating carnallite and rock salt, with a distinct near-horizontal bedding structure. This drilling confirmed the mineralized extension area west of the existing mineral resource estimate boundary, which is closer to the project's planned potash processing plant and deep-water port site.

The drilling team is conducting detailed core logging, evaporite cycle classification, and downhole geophysical logging. Core preparation and sampling are scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks, after which the samples will be sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council laboratory in Canada for analysis. The company plans to update the mineral resource estimate based on the assay results and complete the project's definitive feasibility study by the end of 2026.

The current mineral resource estimate for the Bani O project includes 648.2 million tonnes of measured resources, 1.8 billion tonnes of indicated resources, and 3.56 billion tonnes of inferred resources, with average KCl grades of 15.7%, 15.6%, and 15.6%, respectively. Phase 2 drilling is still ongoing, with the BA-007 hole currently being drilled and the upper section of the BA-008 hole already completed; diamond core drilling will commence after the former is finished.
