en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 5, Ireland's Tusker Construction Group purchased and put into service 5 all-terrain cranes from Grove, including 1 300-tonne GMK6300L-1, 2 120-tonne GMK5120L, and 2 60-tonne GMK3060L-1. All equipment was supplied by Grove's Irish dealer Irlequip, which also provides after-sales support. The cranes have now been deployed in Tusker's construction projects and crane rental operations in Ireland and the UK.

Among the newly added equipment, the GMK6300L-1 features a six-axle chassis, a maximum lifting capacity of 300 tonnes, an 80-meter main boom, and, with a 37-meter jib and boom extension, a maximum working height of up to 120 meters. It is the highest-capacity model in this purchase and has been integrated into Tusker's existing crane fleet to meet the lifting requirements of large-scale projects.

The two GMK5120L units feature a five-axle chassis, a maximum lifting capacity of 120 tonnes, a 66-meter main boom, and a 9.4-meter or 16-meter folding jib. The equipment is equipped with the Grove Crane Control System (CCS) and the MAXbase variable outrigger positioning system, and offers multiple counterweight configurations to accommodate different road transport and job site layout requirements.

The other two GMK3060L-1 units feature a three-axle chassis, a maximum lifting capacity of 60 tonnes, a 48-meter main boom, and an 8.7-meter or 15-meter folding jib, and are likewise equipped with the CCS control system and MAXbase variable outrigger technology. These two units mainly supplement the small- and medium-tonnage lifting capacity of Tusker's rental fleet and are suitable for construction projects with limited site space.

John Lennon, Managing Director of Tusker Group, said that in 2025 the company adjusted its equipment procurement strategy, shifting from primarily purchasing used cranes to purchasing new equipment in order to improve equipment utilization and reduce downtime and operating costs. Following this purchase, Irlequip will provide extended warranties, spare parts supply, technical personnel, and repair workshop support for the new Grove cranes, with related services implemented in coordination with Manitowoc's global customer support system.
