Nokia to Build High-Capacity Network for GBI Across EMEA

Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 24, Gulf Bridge International (GBI) announced plans to deploy a new high-capacity terrestrial network using Nokia’s 1830 GX optical networking platform. Once operational, the system will provide over 50 terabits (TB) of capacity to GBI’s customers, enhancing connectivity for cloud and content providers, telecom operators, and enterprises. The new network aims to deliver services with lower latency, higher capacity, and improved reliability.

A key feature of the project is the establishment of a completely new terrestrial route through Iraq, creating an alternative pathway that bypasses traditional subsea routes.
