Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 27, On October 25, CATL and JAC Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in technology development, supply chain security, and international expansion, according to CATL’s WeChat account. The partnership will leverage CATL’s industry-leading battery technologies to enhance the performance and safety of JAC’s full vehicle lineup, aiming to deliver greater value and efficiency to consumers.
JAC Group, a comprehensive automotive enterprise integrating vehicle manufacturing and mobility services, has been accelerating its move upmarket with the premium "MAEXTRO" lineup. This series incorporates CATL’s latest battery innovations, including Qilin and Shenxing batteries. Featuring technologies such as ultra-fast charging, dual-surface cooling, NP2.0 thermal protection, and reinforced underbody safety systems, the MAEXTRO range aims to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
The collaboration will focus on three key areas to advance JAC’s premium supply chain strategy. First, the companies plan to reinforce supply chain resilience, with CATL committing to long-term, high-quality power battery support for JAC’s entire vehicle lineup. This approach ensures consistent quality and maintains technological leadership.
Second, CATL and JAC will jointly develop next-generation products. The collaboration will integrate breakthroughs in ultra-fast charging, dual-core battery architecture, extended battery life, CIIC (Integrated Intelligent Chassis) systems, battery swapping ecosystems, and data-driven applications. The goal is to accelerate the industrialization of advanced technologies and translate innovations directly into commercial products.
Third, the two companies will cooperate in overseas markets to co-develop new energy vehicles tailored to global demand. This initiative will support the international expansion of JAC’s passenger vehicle brands—including JAC, Yiwei, and Refine—as well as its commercial vehicle unit, Ankai.
Looking ahead, CATL and JAC Group plan to continue exploring innovations in both power battery technologies and business models. The partnership aims to strengthen JAC’s competitiveness in the premium automotive segment while promoting the development and deployment of advanced energy solutions globally.
By combining CATL’s battery expertise with JAC’s vehicle technology and market presence, the collaboration is expected to accelerate the commercialization of cutting-edge innovations and ensure consistent quality and efficiency across the full vehicle portfolio. The partnership also positions both companies to respond effectively to evolving market demands, including performance, safety, and international expansion.
Through this strategic alignment, CATL and JAC Group aim to deliver enhanced technological solutions, improved vehicle performance, and a more sustainable mobility ecosystem, supporting long-term growth and global competitiveness in the new energy vehicle sector.
