Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 27, Samsara Eco has partnered with the European Outdoor Group (EOG) to launch the Nylon Materials Collective, an industry initiative designed to accelerate the adoption of recycled nylon across outdoor apparel and equipment brands.
Nylon is widely used by outdoor brands for its strength and durability.
The Collective enables member companies to pool demand and jointly procure high-performance recycled nylon 6,6 produced through Samsara Eco’s EosEco enzymatic recycling technology. This collaborative approach reduces supply-chain barriers and makes virgin-quality recycled materials more accessible, particularly for smaller brands or those purchasing at fabric level.
Samsara Eco chief commercial officer Sarah Cook said: “Outdoor brands inherently have a respect for the planet. They understand the importance of establishing a circular, low-carbon future so we can all continue enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. We want to do everything we can to help more brands access our materials so we can all enjoy the benefit from going circular.
“The Nylon Materials Collective will make it easier for outdoor brands of any size, who might have smaller materials requirements or who typically buy at a fabric level to access and seamlessly integrate virgin-identical recycled materials into their future product lines.”
EOG sustainability and CSR head Dr Katy Stevens added: “The Nylon Materials Collective represents an opportunity for our members to work together with innovators like Samsara Eco to unlock access to recycled nylon and accelerate the industry’s transition to circular materials. We’re making it easier for brands of all sizes to integrate high-performance, recycled materials into their collections and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable outdoor industry.”
Membership is open to all companies affiliated with the EOG, which represents around 150 brands, retailers, and related organisations. The formal launch of the Collective is scheduled ahead of ISPO Munich 2025, where Samsara Eco will showcase samples of its recycled nylon.
The initiative addresses a key challenge in the outdoor sector, where nylon remains widely used for its strength and durability. By offering a reliable route to recycled alternatives that match virgin material performance, the partnership supports the industry’s shift toward circular textile systems.
The collaboration builds on Samsara Eco’s recent opening of its first commercial-scale manufacturing facility in Jerrabomberra, New South Wales, in September 2025, further expanding production capacity for its enzymatically recycled nylon materials.
