Recently, the Benin Cotonou Conference Center Plaza renovation project has made new progress, with the successful completion of the northern wall test section. This achievement signifies that the project team has found practical solutions in addressing the multiple challenges of wall reconstruction.
Faced with challenges in wall reconstruction such as "tight schedule, high aesthetic requirements, and limited working space," the project team did not rigidly adhere to traditional methods. Instead, they innovatively proposed a construction organization approach based on actual site conditions: "utilizing leftover steel reinforcement resources from the original structure + rapid alignment and installation." This approach not only provides a replicable model for large-scale construction of subsequent wall sections but also demonstrates the project team's strength in technological innovation. During the test section construction, the project team fully utilized leftover steel reinforcement resources from the demolished original structure. They trimmed the leftover rebar ends that met the requirements to serve as "anchoring points" for the fence posts. By using welding, these rebar ends achieved quick and stable anchoring, reducing the need for extensive temporary supports and repeated adjustments typical of traditional methods, thereby improving construction efficiency. Additionally, the project employed "stepping clamps" for positioning and straightening. These clamps use geometric constraints and overlapping clamping logic, allowing components to self-align and automatically correct deviations during installation. This effectively controls long-distance linear errors and significantly enhances the consistency and "straightness" of the wall's lateral appearance.
The project department stated that, based on the experience from the test section, they will continue to optimize process coordination and tool parameters, rapidly replicating this innovative construction method across the entire construction line. By unleashing efficiency through process innovation and ensuring quality through meticulous control, they aim to complete the wall project to high standards, adding a new highlight to the Benin Cotonou Conference Center Plaza renovation project.
