Wedoany.com Report-Dec.3, Amazon announced on Tuesday a significant reduction in seller fees across its European marketplaces, with the largest cuts targeting low-price fashion items. The changes take effect from December 15, 2025.
For clothing and accessories priced up to 15 euros or 15 pounds, the referral fee will decrease from 7 percent to 5 percent. Items priced between 15 and 20 euros or pounds will see the fee drop from 15 percent to 10 percent.
Starting February 1, 2026, Amazon will also lower referral fees on selected home products priced up to 20 euros or pounds from 15 percent to 8 percent, with similar reductions applied to pet clothing, grocery items, and vitamins.
In addition, fulfilment fees for standard-size parcels will be reduced by an average of 0.32 euros in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, and by 0.26 pounds in the United Kingdom, effective December 15.
The company described the initiative as one of the most substantial fee reductions in its history, aimed at sharing efficiency gains with third-party sellers.
"As we continue to lower our cost to serve through operational improvements and innovation, we are passing on greater savings to our selling partners," Amazon stated in its announcement.
The adjustments come as European consumers increasingly purchase low-cost apparel, home goods, and everyday items from fast-growing platforms that offer highly competitive pricing.
Amazon remains the leading online retail platform in major European markets including Germany and France. According to industry estimates, total e-commerce revenue across the region is projected to reach approximately 900 billion euros in 2025, reflecting annual growth of around 7 percent.
The fee restructuring primarily benefits sellers offering products in lower price bands, enabling them to maintain or improve margins while remaining competitive on the platform.
Third-party sellers account for the majority of items sold through Amazon's European stores, making fee levels a key factor in their operational decisions.
The company continues to enhance its logistics and technology infrastructure to reduce operating costs, allowing periodic adjustments that support both seller profitability and customer price expectations across its marketplaces.
