Wedoany.com Report-Dec.3, BBN Airlines Thailand has launched its first ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) partnership by providing one Airbus A320 to Vietjet Thailand starting 1 December 2025. The aircraft operates on high-demand domestic routes connecting Bangkok Suvarnabhumi with Chiang Mai and Phuket, configured with 180 economy-class seats.

Having received its Air Operator Certificate in October 2025, BBN Airlines Thailand is now the country's first dedicated ACMI specialist. Previously known as Thai SmartLynx during its preparation phase, the carrier officially began operations under its current name to offer flexible capacity solutions across Southeast Asia.

Under the agreement, BBN Airlines Thailand supplies the fully equipped aircraft together with flight crew, cabin crew, maintenance support, and insurance. This enables Vietjet Thailand to concentrate on route planning, sales, and passenger services while benefiting from reliable operational support during the peak travel period.

"This partnership represents a key milestone for BBN Airlines Thailand as we roll out flexible capacity solutions to Thailand and the region," said Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Thailand. "We are delighted to welcome Vietjet Thailand as our first ACMI partner and confident our support will align with their operational needs, especially as we enter the busy holiday season."

To maintain consistent service quality, each flight includes a Vietjet Thailand cabin representative who works alongside BBN Airlines Thailand's crew to ensure onboard standards meet passenger expectations.

The collaboration comes as Thailand's domestic aviation market continues strong growth. Airports of Thailand reported that its six major airports handled more than 26 million domestic passengers in the first half of fiscal year 2025, reflecting a 12 percent year-on-year increase.

Separately, Vietjet announced the resumption of direct flights to Con Dao Island starting 3 December 2025. The airline will initially operate one daily round-trip from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, using its modern Airbus fleet. From 15 December 2025, frequencies will increase to two daily round-trips on each route to meet rising year-end demand.

These services provide convenient and affordable connections to Con Dao, a destination recognized for its natural beauty, diverse ecosystems, and historical significance. Travelers from international gateways can easily connect through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to reach the island with improved schedules and competitive fares.

Both developments highlight the ongoing expansion and recovery of air travel within Thailand and Vietnam, offering passengers greater choice and connectivity across popular leisure and business routes during the holiday season and beyond.
