Wedoany.com Report-Dec.16, Henox IT & Datacenters has signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a new submarine cable landing station in Dhuvaran, Anand district, Gujarat, along with a dedicated high-capacity fiber corridor connecting directly to GIFT City.

The agreement was formalized at the Regional AI Impact Conference in Gandhinagar, in the presence of officials from the Government of Gujarat and representatives from Gujarat and the United Arab Emirates.

"This project strengthens India’s sovereign digital backbone and supports the vision of Viksit Bharat," said Shaktivel K, co-Founder & CEO of Henox IT & Datacenters. "By combining a new subsea gateway at Dhuvaran with hyperscaler-ready infrastructure in GIFT City, we are delivering a path-diverse, low-latency ingress that decongests existing routes and powers India’s AI-driven future."

The initiative introduces an additional route for connectivity between the Middle East and India, enhancing diversity and capacity for international wholesale and cloud services. The direct backhaul extension into GIFT City will provide ultra-low latency connections, benefiting high-frequency trading, global capability centres, and artificial intelligence platforms within India's first International Financial Services Centre.

Under the terms of the MoU, Henox will serve as the strategic technology partner, responsible for the design, construction, and operation of both the cable landing station and the terrestrial fiber link. The company will collaborate with an international consortium of submarine cable operators to bring high-capacity systems ashore at Dhuvaran, while deploying advanced infrastructure in GIFT City, including distributed compute nodes and secure interconnection facilities suited for carriers and content providers.

The Government of Gujarat and GIFT City authorities will supply necessary land, utilities, and supporting infrastructure to facilitate timely implementation. The development is projected to generate over 1,300 direct and indirect employment opportunities across construction, operations, and engineering activities in the region.

The combined Dhuvaran landing station and GIFT City ecosystem will establish a modern connectivity corridor, positioning Gujarat as an attractive location for future international submarine cable landings and supporting expansion of environmentally efficient, AI-capable data centre facilities.

"Direct international connectivity into GIFT City gives our global partners a faster, more efficient route into India's digital markets," added Sunil Rangwani, co-founder & CCO at Henox. "The Dhuvaran–GIFT City corridor will provide the latency, reliability and scale that hyperscalers, fintech ecosystems and enterprise networks need to grow with confidence."

This collaboration reflects coordinated efforts to bolster digital infrastructure, enabling enhanced performance and resilience for data-intensive applications while contributing to regional economic growth through skilled job creation and technology deployment.
