Simultaneously, the new main hospital building project was approved in 2024, with main construction planned to commence this year. The new building is designed with seven stories above ground, two stories taller than the existing main building, and its lower floors will seamlessly connect with the existing structure. As a key piece of municipal infrastructure, the new building will significantly expand medical service capacity, planning to add 104 patient beds, and will include brand-new specialized departments such as intensive care, surgery, emergency, and mental health, all equipped with advanced medical facilities.Construction underway at the building located at 747 52nd Street

The project is located within the existing hospital campus in North Oakland, with convenient transportation access. To support the overall expansion and optimize regional transportation municipal infrastructure, a new multi-story parking structure will also be built in the southern part of the campus to meet growing visitor demand.

The entire campus expansion project, as a significant municipal infrastructure investment, is expected to be fully completed by 2031, which will substantially enhance the region's public medical service capabilities.
