Internet service provider GoNetspeed recently initiated a $1.6 million fiber network expansion project in Manchester, Connecticut. This project aims to provide multi-gigabit high-speed internet service to over 5,000 additional homes and businesses.

According to a company press release issued last week, construction is currently underway. GoNetspeed expects customers in the new service areas to be able to start connecting within the next few weeks. The company stated that this fiber network expansion is in response to the growing demand for high bandwidth in the local area.
Tom Perrone, Chief Operating Officer of GoNetspeed, said, "We recognize that fast, reliable internet is essential and must be able to handle current and future bandwidth needs, including supporting more devices and achieving faster network speeds." Perrone added that this expansion will allow more Manchester residents to experience the powerful performance of full-fiber internet with multi-gigabit capabilities.
This new investment brings GoNetspeed's total investment in Manchester to $8.2 million. The project is part of the company's broader rollout plan in Connecticut, which also includes a recent $7 million build in Stratford, as well as existing services in cities such as Ansonia, Bridgeport, Danbury, East Haven, New Haven, and Hartford.
The company announcement did not provide a detailed completion timeline for the Manchester construction project or specify which communities would be prioritized for access. However, GoNetspeed stated that customers in the expansion areas can expect to start connecting within a few weeks and that online pre-orders are now open.
