Wedoany.com Report on Feb 2nd, Ora Banda Mining has discovered a significant gold system within the Round Dam trend at its Davyhurst Gold Project in Western Australia, highlighting opportunities for large-scale open-pit mining. This system spans a 7-kilometer section at Round Dam, located just 15 kilometers from the Davyhurst processing plant, providing favorable conditions for resource development.
The exploration identified multiple high-grade mineralized veins, offering a new interpretation of historical drilling data. In the first phase of the drilling program, over 280 holes were completed, totaling 53,000 meters. The results indicate the potential for high-grade veins within a broader mineralized corridor. Specific drilling results include: 14 meters at 18.5 g/t Au, including 12 meters at 21.5 g/t; 7 meters at 35 g/t, including 5 meters at 48.6 g/t; 8 meters at 2.5 g/t, including 5.7 meters at 7.2 g/t; and 8 meters at 29 g/t, including 5 meters at 46.2 g/t.
Ora Banda Mining also recorded several results demonstrating large-tonnage opportunities, such as: 8 meters at 2.5 g/t Au, including 5.7 meters at 7.2 g/t; 22 meters at 1.2 g/t, including 18 meters at 1.3 g/t; and 26 meters at 2.0 g/t, including 20 meters at 2.5 g/t. These data further support the assessment of Round Dam's mining potential.
The company is systematically exploring the potential for both open-pit and underground mining along a 7.5-kilometer section of the 18-kilometer-long Round Dam trend. The exploration corridor already contains seven named deposits and several other prospects, with good continuity of mineralization. Managing Director Luke Creagh stated: "At Round Dam, we see the potential for large-scale open-pit mining opportunities, enhanced by multiple newly identified high-grade veins. It is exciting that the Round Dam project is located only 15 kilometers from our existing Davyhurst processing infrastructure, offering the potential for rapid resource development. Today's Round Dam results are another highlight of the company's ongoing A$73 million FY2026 exploration strategy, which aims to identify projects with the potential to be converted into mines in the short term to support the company's organic growth strategy."
Potential rapid resource development is a key component of the company's strategy to increase gold production in 2026. Last year, Ora Banda Mining produced over 90,000 ounces of gold in FY2025 and plans to increase production to between 140,000 and 155,000 ounces in FY2026. This plan, combined with the exploration progress at the Round Dam gold deposit, provides a solid foundation for the company's future development.
