Port of Kristiansand AS has announced that it has narrowed down the list of bidders to five contractors for the planned development of the back area and associated infrastructure for the new container terminal to be built at Kongsgård/Vige. This step is a crucial part of enhancing future container handling capacity.
A total of eight contractors applied for prequalification, with the final five companies—Isachsen Anlegg, NRC Norge, Repstad Anlegg, Risa, and TT Anlegg—proceeding to the bidding stage. Subsequently submitted bids will be evaluated before the port determines the final contractor.
Harald J. Solvik, Technical Director at Port of Kristiansand, stated: "We are pleased with the interest the project has generated and that five highly qualified general contractors are continuing to compete."
The port aims to sign the contract by the end of March. The back area work is essential for establishing the new container terminal structure at Kongsgård/Vige, including land preparation and installation of the infrastructure required for terminal operations.
Earlier this year, Port of Kristiansand AS signed a contract with Repstad Anlegg for the reconstruction of Vige Havneveg road. This road adjustment is related to relocating container terminal activities to Kongsgård/Vige to accommodate new access routes and infrastructure needs.
Port of Kristiansand AS is an inter-municipal port company in Norway, established in 2021 through the merger of Port of Kristiansand and Port of Lindesnes. It is primarily owned jointly by the municipalities of Kristiansand and Lindesnes.
