Traffic conditions on the Gwydir Highway in the Gibralter Range, New South Wales, will be adjusted starting next week due to slope stabilization works aimed at mitigating future impacts from severe weather. Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) stated that the work will commence at 7:00 AM on Monday, February 23rd, operating daily until 6:00 PM, and is expected to conclude on Saturday, March 21st, weather permitting, with suspension on Sundays and public holidays.

To ensure the safety of workers and road users, single-lane alternating traffic will be implemented during construction, with the speed limit reduced to 60 km/h. From Monday, March 2nd, to Friday, March 6th, traffic arrangements for Slope Area One will be in effect 24 hours a day to maintain safety.

For over-dimensional and over-mass vehicles wider than 3.5 meters planning to pass through the work zone, contact with the project team is required at least 24 hours prior to travel at 0409 293 187. Drivers should allow for up to 5 minutes of additional travel time and drive according to traffic conditions, following signage and traffic control instructions.
