Wedoany.com Report on Feb 25th, Seattle-based MER Equipment has recently launched the B6, a compact marine generator enclosure specifically designed for vessels where space for traditional power installations is limited. The enclosure measures 66 inches × 33 inches × 40 inches and supports generator sets up to 53 kW at 60 Hz, with optional extension panels allowing for expansion to accommodate units up to 104 kW.

Tyler Allen, Chief Operating Officer of MER Equipment, noted, "Space onboard is always at a premium. The development of the B6 was aimed at providing operators with a compact solution while ensuring reliability, maintainability, and integration flexibility. It is designed for the needs of modern vessel construction and retrofitting." This compact marine generator enclosure features a modular electrical room structure built around industrial components and is compatible with various parallel controllers and system architectures.

The B6 enclosure is fully compatible with the company's Tango parallel system, supporting synchronized load sharing among multiple generators. Its management network can connect up to 36 devices and can integrate battery banks, inverters, shore power, and renewable energy sources, providing a pathway for hybrid vessel designs. For marine environments, the enclosure features sealed connection ports for DC and AC cables, seawater supply, fuel, and oil lines, with a design that helps control noise and fluid leaks.

The exhaust system includes insulation and sound attenuation and can be configured for wet or dry exhaust applications. Standard monitoring covers oil pressure, coolant temperature, coolant level, engine oil level, and fuel return pressure. For vessels requiring hydraulic deck equipment or stabilizer support, the B6 can be equipped with an electric clutch front power take-off (PTO). Removable PTO panel extensions allow for mechanical drive options while maintaining sound attenuation performance.

MER Equipment states that the compact B6 marine generator enclosure is suitable for commercial applications such as fishing vessels, tugs, passenger ships, and yachts, meeting operators' stringent space constraints and growing interest in hybrid systems. Allen added, "The market demands smaller, smarter, and more integrated systems. The B6 provides designers and operators with flexibility for today and headroom for future upgrades." This compact marine generator enclosure is designed to enhance the efficiency and adaptability of vessel power systems.
