Wedoany.com Report on Feb 25th, Across Maharashtra, the construction of highways worth ₹3.7 trillion is in full swing. The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) is actively driving this large-scale infrastructure program in the state. Recently, in a conversation with CW Editor PRATAP PADODE, Managing Director Dr. Brijesh Dixit outlined the approach to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of highway construction, covering institutional reforms, execution frameworks, financing strategies, and technology adoption.

Currently, numerous highway construction projects are progressing simultaneously in several regions of Maharashtra, with many facing tight deadlines. To address this challenge, MSIDC has innovated at the institutional level by creating eight Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) specifically responsible for executing Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) highway projects totaling ₹3.7 trillion. This approach helps concentrate resources, clarify responsibilities, and enhance the professionalism of project management.
From an execution perspective, MSIDC has established a robust digital platform, utilizing advanced technological tools such as drones and SCADA systems for real-time, close monitoring of highway construction progress. Through digital management, issues during construction can be promptly identified and resolved, improving work efficiency and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
Dr. Brijesh Dixit stated that these reforms and technological applications are key to MSIDC's success in ensuring highway construction. Completing highway projects on time while maintaining quality will not only improve Maharashtra's transportation conditions and promote regional economic development but will also accumulate valuable experience for the state's future infrastructure development.
