I. Applications
SCST-204 and SCST-205 reforming catalysts are mainly applicable to the reforming and hydrogen production section of plants producing synthetic ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen, using light hydrocarbon gases such as natural gas, coke oven gas, blast furnace gas, oilfield associated gas, catalytic dry gas, and coking dry gas, as well as light oil liquids as feedstocks.
These catalysts are the latest reforming catalysts developed by Sichuan Shutai Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. They exhibit excellent reforming activity, anti-coking performance, and high mechanical strength, along with a low potassium loss rate. They can withstand high space velocities, offer wide operational flexibility, and demonstrate strong adaptability to furnace types (suitable for both top-fired and side-fired reforming furnaces). The overall performance of the product is superior.
The main reactions are as follows:
CₙHₘ + nH₂O == nCO + (n+m/2)H₂ (endothermic) (1)
CO + H₂O == CO₂ + H₂ (exothermic) (2)
CO + 3H₂ == CH₄ + H₂O (exothermic) (3)

III. Application Fields
Natural gas to synthetic ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen plants;
Coke oven gas to synthetic ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen plants;
Hydrogen production units via reforming of methane and higher hydrocarbons in catalytic and coking dry gas (better performance when used in combination with our company's SCST-111 pre-reforming catalyst);
Methanol, synthetic ammonia, and hydrogen plants using oilfield gas, naphtha, LPG, refinery gas, etc., as feedstocks (better performance when used in combination with our company's SCST-111 pre-reforming catalyst).
IV. Catalyst Characteristics
Strong anti-coking performance: The SCST-204 catalyst incorporates potassium alkali as an anti-coking promoter, significantly enhancing the surface alkalinity and hydrophilicity of the catalyst;
Low operating pressure drop, which remains essentially unchanged throughout the service life until replacement;
Excellent activity and thermal stability: The active component nickel is highly dispersed with a stable crystal structure;
Smooth exterior shape, easy to load.
V. Packaging, Storage, and Transportation
The finished catalyst is packed in plastic or iron drums lined with plastic bags. During transportation and storage, it must be protected from moisture, fire, and inversion, and strictly protected from chemical contamination. Rolling or impact during handling is strictly prohibited. When stored in the open, the drums should be placed on wooden pallets at the bottom and covered with canvas tarpaulins for rain protection. Ton bags can also be used for packaging upon user request.
