Product Introduction

YTTW flexible fire-resistant cable is a high-performance industrial fire-resistant power cable, renowned for its excellent fire resistance and flexible design, and is widely used in locations with extremely high fire safety requirements.

Product Overview

Core Structure: It uses high-purity oxygen-free copper as the conductor, with a high-temperature-resistant inorganic mineral insulation tape (typically synthetic mica tape) as the insulation layer, and a copper sheath as the armor layer. Some products also have an outer halogen-free low-smoke polyolefin sheath to enhance protection.

Fire Resistance: Its fire resistance rating reaches Class A, and it can continue to burn in a flame at 950–1000°C for more than 180 minutes while maintaining circuit integrity. It also passes the UK BS6387 standard's combined fire resistance, water spray, and mechanical impact tests.

Flexible Design: The minimum bending radius can reach 6–12 times the cable outer diameter, far superior to traditional rigid mineral insulated cables (such as BTTZ), making it easy to lay and install, especially suitable for complex environments with limited space.

Key Features

High-Temperature Stability: The long-term permissible operating temperature can reach 250°C, and it can briefly withstand extreme temperatures close to the melting point of copper (1083°C).

Safety and Environmental Friendliness: It produces no smoke, no toxic gas, and no halogen gas release when burning, meeting green building standards.

High Current-Carrying Capacity and Overload Capability: The current-carrying capacity is higher than that of ordinary cables of the same specification, and the overload capacity can reach more than 10 times the normal load.

Durability and Service Life: The copper sheath provides excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical protection, with a theoretical service life of more than 50 years; some sources even indicate it can reach over 100 years.

Grounding Function: The copper sheath can also serve as a grounding conductor, simplifying system design and improving safety and reliability.

Precautions

Despite its superior performance, YTTW cable still has some limitations:

Higher Cost: Due to the extensive use of copper materials, the production cost is higher than that of traditional cables.

Insufficient Flexibility in Large Cross-Sections: Currently, the maximum single-core cross-section can reach 630mm², but the cross-section of multi-core cables usually does not exceed 70mm², limiting application in high-current scenarios.

Sheath Risk: Under extreme mechanical impact, the copper sheath may crack, causing damage to the insulation layer. Severe bending or squeezing should be avoided during installation and use.

In summary, YTTW (RTTZ) flexible fire-resistant cable is key equipment for ensuring the continuous operation of power systems during fires in modern buildings and infrastructure.
