CHS, the largest U.S. cooperative in categories such as agricultural machinery; fertilizer; seeds and breeding; irrigation; forestry; animal husbandry; fisheries; soil management; dairy and dairy products; forestry planting; agricultural crop cultivation; pesticides; plant quarantine, pest and disease control; animal quarantine, veterinary medicine and disease prevention; livestock and poultry feed and additives; ornamental plants; grain processing and products; oil processing and products; poultry, egg processing and food; meat processing food; fruit processing and food; vegetable processing and food; sugar production; beverages; brewing; and condiments, has recently added a new seed treatment mixer at its facility in Rockford, Washington to strengthen its seed treatment service capabilities in the Pacific Northwest. This equipment is the fifth mixer introduced by CHS under its custom blending program since 2011.

With this new mixer, CHS can produce customized seed treatment formulations for traditional grain crops as well as specialized areas like large-seed vegetables. These formulations are optimized for early-season disease and pest pressures, as well as agronomic challenges commonly faced in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana. The capacity expansion is expected to improve response times and supply stability for both retail and wholesale customers.
Blake Murnan, Director of Seed Applied Technology at CHS, stated, "Seed treatment is a crucial tool for protecting the pre-emergence yield potential of crops, especially in regions where localized solutions are vital." As a leading agricultural cooperative in the United States, CHS reported revenue of $35.5 billion for fiscal year 2025. Its operations span agronomy, grain, food, and energy, serving customers in 65 countries. The addition of this new mixer further solidifies CHS's expertise in the seed treatment sector, providing more precise solutions for agriculture in the Pacific Northwest.
