Wedonay.com Report, On March 26-27, 2026, Xeikon, in collaboration with Mail Druck + Medien, will launch the first stop of the "Xeikon Innovation Days Tour." This two-day event is designed for professionals in the label printing industry, offering an on-site opportunity to observe digital label production processes firsthand. Participants will be able to experience production modes that require no pre-formed tools or long lead times.
Mail Druck + Medien is a German printing company founded in 1934, currently specializing in the fully digital manufacturing of self-adhesive labels. During the event, visitors can enter the production floor to observe live operations and engage with practitioners about the decision-making processes in daily operations. The schedule demonstrates how digital workflows, automated systems, and on-site laser cutting work together to enhance production flexibility and speed, reducing reliance on traditional tools.
The event places special emphasis on the application of sustainable materials and practices in daily production, including eco-friendly substrates, food-grade inks, and waste-reduction methods. This aims to showcase how modern label production can maintain product quality while addressing commercial and sustainability challenges.
Partners Herma and Kurz participated in the event. Herma discussed the latest developments in its thermal substrate series, while Kurz performed live demonstrations of its digital materialization unit. Stefan Mail, owner of Mail Druck + Medien, stated: "We believe in the power of innovation and forward-looking technologies, which enable us, as a medium-sized enterprise, to operate as a global player. I am delighted to share my insights with fellow label converters to help them make the right choices."
Xeikon Marketing Manager Danny Mertens said: "We designed these Innovation Days tours to be both practical and accessible. This is not an isolated demonstration but a showcase of what actually happens in a converter's daily work. This level of detail can spark ideas and help people think differently about their own production."
