Wedoany.com Report on Mar 16th, BASF recently announced the launch of a new fungicide named Zorina in the US market, expected to be available to growers for the 2026 planting season. This product aims to help farmers control white mold and other major diseases affecting soybeans, dry beans, and canola.
White mold is one of the primary diseases causing economic losses for soybean producers. According to data provided by BASF, yield losses in the US due to this disease were estimated at $281.1 million in 2024. The Zorina fungicide offers targeted protection against white mold and provides residual control against other foliar diseases such as Septoria brown spot and frogeye leaf spot.
It is reported that this new product combines the active ingredient boscalid, previously used in BASF's Endura fungicide, with the company's Revysol technology, aiming to provide broader and longer-lasting disease control.
BASF stated that early application is crucial for the product's efficacy, especially before canopy closure when conditions favor white mold development. The company recommends applying the product during the early reproductive stages for soybeans and dry beans, and between the two-leaf stage and full bloom for canola, depending on disease pressure.
