en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 19th, Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) of China is expected to submit a reactivation plan for the Third Nuclear Power Plant (Nuclear Plant No. 3) in March. The "Nuclear Safety Commission" of the Taiwan authorities stated that Taipower must submit the reactivation plan and a report on its implementation results, and complete an independent safety inspection. If the report is sufficiently detailed, the review time could be shortened, making a theoretical restart of Nuclear Plant No. 3 in 2028 possible.

Hsu Yung-hui, Deputy General Manager of Taipower, revealed that the plan is to submit the "Reactivation Preparation Plan" to the "Nuclear Safety Commission" for review before the end of March. Relevant safety assessments require technical support from the original equipment manufacturer.
Chen Ming-chen, Chairperson of the "Nuclear Safety Commission," emphasized that the restart requires a comprehensive review based on the reactivation plan, independent safety inspection, and aging analysis. The review duration depends on the level of detail in the reports and the findings from on-site inspections. The more detailed the reports, the less equipment needs updating, and the better the inspection results, the shorter the review time could be, thereby increasing the possibility of a restart in 2028.
