The route, launched in June 2024, currently operates once daily and is scheduled to increase to twice daily from July 3rd. Joey Seow, the airline's Vice President for Europe, stated in an interview: "It would be unwise if we didn't continue to expand the market by adding flights."

According to flight schedules submitted to aviation analytics firm Cirium, Singapore Airlines will operate 10 weekly flights between Singapore and Gatwick from the end of this month, increasing to twice daily from July 3rd. The new flights will primarily depart Singapore late at night and arrive at Gatwick before 10:00. The existing flight arrives at Gatwick at 06:25 and returns to Singapore at 10:00, with a gap of about two to three hours between them.

Flight schedule data indicates that Singapore Airlines may offer connecting services on the new flights to cities such as Melbourne, Manila, Cebu, Taipei, and Bangkok. During the peak summer months of July and August, the airline will offer 14,000 seats per week (both directions), with the twice-daily Airbus A380 service to Heathrow providing approximately 6,500 of those seats.

Information from the UK Civil Aviation Authority shows that Singapore Airlines' Gatwick flights have maintained high load factors, averaging around 84% last year. Joey Seow noted: "Frankly, our planning horizon is being dictated by Boeing and Airbus." Previously, aircraft shortages limited capacity growth, but some of these constraints have now eased.
