en.Wedoany.com Reported - WattEV, an electric truck operator in California, USA, has announced an order for 370 Tesla Semi Class 8 electric trucks, setting a record for the largest electric truck order in the state. The first 50 units are scheduled for delivery in 2026, with the remaining vehicles to be operational by the end of 2027, bringing the total order value to approximately $100 million.
The delivery of the first Semis will coincide with the activation of charging stations at the Port of Oakland and in Fresno, which are equipped with Tesla's Megawatt Charging System (MCS) capable of replenishing 300 miles of range in about 30 minutes. WattEV stated that over 300 Semis will be deployed through a joint project with the Port of Oakland. The company currently operates six other charging sites in California.
"This deployment is a significant step in WattEV's expansion into nationwide long-haul electric transportation. We aim to be an operator of scaled electric freight infrastructure, fleets, and logistics platforms," said Salim Youssefzadeh, CEO of WattEV. He also mentioned that the Tesla Semi was selected after a public tender based on cost, performance, and availability.

Tesla first unveiled the Semi in 2017, originally planning for it to hit the road in 2019. After multiple delays, the high-volume assembly line with an annual capacity of 50,000 units officially came online last month in Nevada. The company offers two versions: a standard range of 325 miles and a long range of 500 miles.
WattEV's existing fleet of 75 electric trucks has already accumulated over 7 million miles, primarily operating in Southern California. Its vertically integrated business model covers electric vehicle deployment, charging infrastructure, and leasing services. Youssefzadeh emphasized, "Our electric freight solutions can move goods with superior economics compared to current diesel options, and this advantage will only strengthen as energy costs further diverge."
