The partnership targets process industry customers in chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, mining, and metals.

According to the collaboration arrangement announced by both parties, Tsukishima Kikai will provide relevant drying technology and equipment solutions, while GEM Machinery will leverage its engineering, manufacturing, and project execution capabilities in India to drive local market applications. Official materials from Tsukishima Kikai indicate that its Paddle Dryer utilizes a jacketed shell and hollow paddle shafts for indirect heating, capable of processing materials such as sludge, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, ABS resin, polycarbonate, and polyacetal.

Tsukishima Kikai's solid drying equipment portfolio also includes Fluid Bed Dryers, Steam Tube Dryers, and Vacuum Mixing Dryers. Its Steam Tube Dryers have delivered over 500 units cumulatively and can be used for processing materials such as coal and chemicals. The company currently maintains business operations in India and has previously supplied large-scale industrial drying equipment to Indian petrochemical enterprises.

GEM Machinery's existing product line includes paddle dryers, rotary dryers, vibrating fluid bed dryers, belt dryers, flash dryers, coolers, and calcination equipment. The company's public projects also cover applications such as sludge drying, ore drying and calcination, and drying of polymer and fine chemical materials. This collaboration will initially focus on the two types of drying equipment: paddle dryers and fluid bed dryers.

On August 20, both parties held a solid drying technology exchange event at the Ankleshwar Regional Centre of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, with a focus on introducing the aforementioned two drying technologies. To date, neither party has disclosed details regarding new plant investments, specific production line scales, the value of the first joint orders, or the proportion of local manufacturing.
