Five GN Mining Centrifuges from China Complete Commissioning at Overseas Mine
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 23, GN Separation, a Chinese manufacturer of solid-liquid separation equipment, announced that its five GNLW764-VFD variable-frequency decanter centrifuges had completed on-site commissioning at a large overseas mine tailings treatment project. The equipment is installed at an altitude of approximately 4,500 meters and is primarily responsible for solid-liquid separation of mine tailings slurry. The equipment supplier was selected through international competitive bidding, and the on-site operating conditions involve high-flow slurry, high-hardness minerals, and highly abrasive tailings materials.

The mine owner initially purchased only one centrifuge for on-site trial use. After an extended period of testing under actual operating conditions, the equipment's operational stability, solid-liquid separation performance, and mechanical properties were recognized, and the owner subsequently purchased four additional centrifuges of the same model, ultimately resulting in an on-site configuration of five units.
To meet the tailings treatment requirements of the mine, GN configured the project with 30-inch large-diameter bowl centrifuges featuring variable-frequency drive control, allowing operating parameters to be adjusted according to changes in feed conditions. Key wear-prone components of the equipment use wear-resistant assemblies and targeted material configurations to adapt to the operating environment of continuous erosion by high-hardness mineral particles.
The complete tailings treatment system is also equipped with a 6,000-liter automatic chemical dosing unit and dedicated screw pumps, used respectively for reagent dosing and slurry transportation. The five centrifuges are centrally installed in a steel-structured processing building at the mine site, and the auxiliary equipment works together with the centrifuges to carry out tailings slurry conditioning, material transportation, and solid-liquid separation processes.
