en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian renewable energy generator and retailer Flow Power has completed the construction and commissioning of three solar and battery projects in South Australia. Located in Monarto, Naracoorte, and Coonawarra respectively, each project features a 6 to 7 MW solar farm and a 5 MW/15 MWh battery energy storage system, connected to the local 33 kV distribution network.
Flow Power will be responsible for the operation of these three projects for the next 30 years. The projects utilize hail-resistant photovoltaic modules and Australian-made steel, and deploy custom prefabricated high-voltage and inverter kiosks to enhance long-term reliability and resilience. Company Design Manager John Maroney stated: "From using hail-resistant modules and Australian-made steel, to deploying custom prefabricated high-voltage and inverter kiosks, we have applied smart solutions at every stage. Delivering and commissioning these projects through our own team demonstrates our established capability and our long-term commitment to Australian renewable energy."
For residents of Naracoorte and Coonawarra, Flow Power has also launched a tailored electricity retail plan. Residents who choose this plan will receive a discount on their base electricity rates and can virtually link their energy consumption to the actual renewable energy projects in their region. The company says this achieves a "full-cycle renewable energy service from generation to usage."
Flow Power currently operates wind, solar, and hybrid energy assets in South Australia with a total capacity of 85.3 MW. Company Chief Operating Officer Byron Serjeantson said: "Adding these new projects to our rapidly growing South Australian portfolio is an exciting milestone for Flow Power. We are proud to continue delivering outstanding renewable energy projects and customer solutions that drive the renewable energy transition. Additionally, there are some excellent community benefit initiatives, and these are among the first projects in the National Electricity Market to use Australian-made steel."
