en.Wedoany.com Reported - Austria's century-old confectionery company Josef Manner & Comp. AG has partnered with MAN Truck & Bus to launch a pink-liveried all-electric distribution truck.

The truck, a MAN eTGX 20.449 4x2 model, has a rated output of 330 kW (449 hp) and a range of up to 570 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle primarily shuttles between the company's two main factories in Vienna and Wolkersdorf, handling the feeder transport of raw materials such as nougat and chocolate spreads, serving as a dedicated shuttle transport task on fixed plant routes.

In the fixed-route factory transport scenario, this MAN eTGX all-electric truck enables zero-emission driving in urban areas, reducing carbon emissions and noise pollution. The vehicle is primarily powered by renewable energy, including purchased green electricity and power generated by Manner's own photovoltaic power station at its Wolkersdorf site, striving to achieve low-carbon emissions across the entire chain from energy production to vehicle operation.

Manner CEO Dieter Messner stated that the deployment of this all-electric truck demonstrates the company's commitment to taking responsibility across the entire value chain and showcases the current efficiency of zero-emission logistics. Rudi Kuchta, Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus Vertrieb Österreich Ges.m.b.H., believes this zero-emission heavy-duty freight model has already achieved economic viability and operational reliability. Austria's Federal Minister for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure, Peter Hanke, emphasized that decarbonizing the transport sector is central to the climate strategy, and Manner's practice provides an example of integrating sustainable transport into daily industrial operations.

In addition to the already operational MAN eTGX all-electric truck, Manner plans to further expand its zero-emission transport fleet. A second fully electric articulated truck and a 7.5-tonne electric truck have already been approved for relevant subsidies and will be used to supply the brand's flagship store on Stephansplatz in Vienna's old town.
