This marks another step closer to the opening and operation of this high-speed railway that traverses the Qinling Mountains.

The Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway is a project under the national medium- and long-term railway network plan, with a total mainline length of approximately 256.9 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The line starts from Xi'an City in Shaanxi Province, passes through Shangluo City, traverses the Qinling Mountains, and ultimately connects to Shiyan City in Hubei Province. There are seven stations along the entire line: Xi'an East, Lantian, Shangluo West, Shanyang, Manchuan Pass, Yunxi, and Shiyan East.

The section entering operational testing this time is the Wuhan Bureau-managed segment of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway, with a total test line length of approximately 92.9 kilometers. During this phase, the railway department will comprehensively carry out tasks such as train diagram parameter testing, fault simulation and emergency drills, and diagram-based train operations, providing reliable technical support for subsequent formal operations. Previously, the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway had completed integrated commissioning and testing, and on May 12, it initiated the full-line through test, using comprehensive inspection trains running at the designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour to conduct comprehensive verification of the entire system, including tracks, power supply, and signaling.

After the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway opens for operation, the journey from Shiyan to Xi'an will take about one hour. Meanwhile, the line will connect with the Wuhan-Shiyan High-Speed Railway at Shiyan East Station, establishing a rapid railway passenger corridor from Wuhan to Xi'an, enabling travel between Wuhan and Xi'an within three hours. By then, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Xi'an will form a high-speed railway "triangle" loop, further strengthening the connection between the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration.

As an important part of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, the opening of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway will break through the development bottleneck of the Qinba mountainous area, injecting new momentum into industrial upgrading and regional coordinated development along the route.
