The new system utilizes factory-prefabricated lightweight and modular roof units that can be directly installed on-site.

Participating institutions will jointly advance the lightweight and low-cost design of roof units, prefabrication manufacturing technology, on-site installation methods, as well as related demonstration and performance verification plans.
