en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tarrina Resources (ASX:TR8) has completed an Induced Polarization (IP) survey at the Walparuta Project in the Curnamona Province, South Australia, identifying strong, laterally continuous anomalies along a 700-meter survey line, interpreted to be associated with sulfides and yet to be drill-tested.
The IP anomalies lie within the 5-kilometer magnetic-gravity trend defining the Walparuta IOCG system, validating the triple geophysical anomaly model guiding major copper-gold discoveries in the region. Activity in the Curnamona Province is currently elevated, with Havilah Resources (ASX:HAV) recently entering a A$240 million joint venture development agreement with Sandfire for its Kalkaroo copper-gold project, and a A$50 million agreement with Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) to develop the Mutooroo copper-gold project.
Chairman Francis De Souza stated that the IP survey results are clear and coherent, with laterally continuous sulfide-related chargeability anomalies located precisely within the 5-kilometer-long magnetic and gravity corridor believed to define the Walparuta IOCG system. These results significantly enhance the project's prospectivity, providing higher-confidence drill targets that have never been tested. The company believes Walparuta has emerged as a compelling, underexplored IOCG opportunity in the Curnamona Province. He emphasized that with historical drilling only testing a limited 1-kilometer portion of the northern part of the 5-kilometer magnetic anomaly, there is strong potential for a major discovery at shallow depths and along the southern strike.

The company noted that magnetic, gravity, and IP geophysical surveys all point to targets within the same drill corridor, spanning the entire 5-kilometer system. Magnetic surveys targeting iron oxide alteration defined the initial 5-kilometer continuous north-south anomaly, while gravity surveys detecting dense iron oxide bodies closely align with the magnetic trend. IP surveys targeting disseminated sulfides identified five strong, laterally continuous anomalies across all three survey lines, directly overlying the magnetic-gravity targets.
Historical copper-gold drill results supporting this discovery include 36.6 meters grading 0.37% copper and 0.27 g/t gold, coinciding with an IP chargeability anomaly over copper-gold breccia, validating the geological model. The largest chargeability anomaly is located above the main magnetic-gravity target approximately 200-400 meters southeast of the Walparuta mine, representing the most compelling untested IOCG target identified to date, starting at a depth of just 70 meters. Additional near-surface targets have been identified west of the historical mine, supported by soil samples containing up to 290 ppm copper, opening new shallow discovery opportunities.
The next exploration phase at Walparuta will focus on the identified targets, with additional geological mapping and geochemical sampling of high-priority targets. New petrophysical data analysis will be used to better define and locate sulfide mineralization for drill testing, aiming to de-risk subsequent exploration drilling. TR8 believes that drilling to test the Walparuta targets will become a high priority once IP and geochemical coverage is expanded to determine the extent of the potential IOCG system. Work over the next three months includes refining and optimizing 3D magnetic and gravity inversion models to help improve drill targeting, reviewing and analyzing petrophysical and geochemical data from rock samples to optimize interpretation and reduce drilling risk, evaluating the value of auger soil sampling to improve geochemical coverage, assessing whether IP gradient array or 2D dipole-dipole IP acquisition is the most cost-effective technique to improve southern and western coverage, and planning subsequent drill targets based on the results of the next exploration phase.
