en.Wedoany.com Reported - SK Telecom has deployed a digital twin system built on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform for SK Hynix's semiconductor factory, targeting physical artificial intelligence applications.

As part of SK Hynix's "Autonomous Factory 2030" initiative, the two parties completed technical verification of the digital twin in semiconductor production last year. By creating virtual replicas of physical factories and equipment, the digital twin can simulate process changes and equipment layouts before implementation. Scenario testing in a virtual environment helps minimize trial-and-error costs and promotes data-driven management decisions.

SK Telecom stated that during the project implementation, the company developed Agentic Digital Twin Modeling technology. This technology leverages NVIDIA AI tools to automatically convert and integrate equipment and spatial data into the digital twin environment, replacing previously manual steps such as data conversion, screen optimization, and performance enhancement. Integration with NVIDIA Omniverse technology further accelerates the processing speed of large-scale 3D data and improves memory efficiency.

SK Telecom plans to expand the application of this digital twin technology to public and enterprise sectors. Cho Ik-hwan, head of SK Telecom's Physical AI division, stated that the company will expand its collaborative role with NVIDIA across multiple manufacturing industries, including semiconductors.
