China Mobile Zhejiang Deploys Quantum Encrypted Leased Line in Wenzhou to Safeguard Grain Data Security

en.Wedoany.com Reported - China Mobile Zhejiang Wenzhou Branch recently collaborated with the Wenzhou Grain Bureau to deploy a quantum encrypted leased line, using quantum security gateways to establish encryption protection for regional digital and intelligent grain management, enhancing the security capabilities of grain data in areas such as storage, procurement, sales, and supervision.

As grain storage management, intelligent monitoring, remote dispatching, and other operations become fully digitalized, grain condition data such as temperature, humidity, inventory levels, and pest monitoring, as well as inbound and outbound business instructions, flow rapidly through the leased line network. Traditional encryption technologies struggle to counter emerging cyber risks and cannot withstand the threat of future quantum computing decryption. This quantum encrypted leased line, based on the IPsec protocol, integrates triple encryption technologies—Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) algorithms, quantum keys, and national cryptographic algorithms—to achieve "one-time pad, extremely difficult to decipher" for core grain data.

The project adopts quantum IPSec VPN gateways, establishing encrypted channels using quantum keys on top of traditional leased line networks to ensure encrypted transmission and secure access of data between the grain and material reserve management center and application systems. This leased line product supports networking technologies such as VPN, SD-WAN, SPN, and OTN, and can adapt to scenarios including remote access, cross-regional networking, and 5G slicing. After the line is activated, end-to-end encryption from key generation to data transmission aims to provide cybersecurity assurance for the grain reserve sector.

The deployed quantum security gateways all use domestically produced core components, achieving full-stack software and hardware self-control from chip instruction sets to encryption protocols, supporting national cryptographic algorithms and anti-quantum protocol stacks. Leveraging top-level design from its Group Research Institute and technical implementation by China Mobile Integrated, China Mobile is advancing the construction of quantum metropolitan area networks and wide-area quantum cryptographic service networks to provide security support for key industries.
