en.Wedoany.com Reported - On June 5, the Ningxia Fengsui 750 kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project was officially put into operation. The completion of this project marks a leapfrog upgrade of the northern Ningxia power grid, successfully transforming it from a former regional power supply endpoint into a key hub for the northern Ningxia power grid.

Located in Huinong District, Shizuishan City, this project is a critical node of the northern Ningxia backbone grid network. Construction began in November 2024 and includes four major sub-projects. In this phase, two new sets of 1500 MVA main transformers were built, with a total supporting transmission line length of 150 kilometers and 162 new towers erected.

The project has opened up a new energy transmission channel along the Helan Mountain and the upper reaches of the Yellow River in Ningxia, and has also laid a solid power foundation for the implementation of subsequent major energy projects, rural revitalization, and high-quality local economic and social development.

As a province with a relatively high proportion of new energy installations in China, Ningxia has continuously strengthened its power grid infrastructure in recent years. The completion of this project will help transmit clean electricity, such as wind and solar power from northern Ningxia, to load centers, supporting the green and low-carbon energy transition.
