en.Wedoany.com Reported - India's ACME Group's $4.2 billion green hydrogen project in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) is expected to commence commercial operations for its second and third phases in 2030 and 2033, respectively.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported on Monday that each of the second and third phases will have the capacity to produce 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia and 71,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

Upon full completion, the total production capacity will reach 800,000 tonnes of green ammonia and 142,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.

In May 2025, OPAZ announced that each of the two new phases would cover an area of 40 square kilometers.

According to a December 2025 report by the local English-language daily Oman Daily Observer, the first phase of the project has a capacity of 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia and is scheduled to commence production by the end of 2026.

China's Sungrow Hydrogen provides alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment for the project.

The first phase has signed an offtake agreement with Norway's Yara International.

This green hydrogen project is one of ten investment and cooperation agreements signed by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) in Oman, with a total value of 2.9 billion Omani Rials ($7.5 billion).
