en.Wedoany.com Reported - Japanese motor manufacturer Nidec Corporation has announced the development of a prototype In-Rack Cooling Distribution Unit (In-Rack CDU) with a cooling capacity of 300kW, designed for high-density AI hardware heat dissipation. The product will make its debut this week at Interop Tokyo 2026 in Tokyo and is scheduled to enter mass production in the first quarter of 2027. Previously, Nidec's two generations of In-Rack CDUs provided cooling capacities of 200kW and 250kW respectively within a 4U chassis.

In addition to the new CDU, Nidec has also developed the STC 1.0 prototype, which can integrate up to five In-Rack CDUs into a single system. The company stated that the development of STC 1.0 aims to balance future scalability with optimal configuration during initial deployment.

Nidec Corporation (formerly Nippon Densan Corporation), founded in 1973, started with the production and distribution of motors. In addition to In-Rack CDUs, the company also develops row-based CDUs, cold plates, and manufactures music boxes.
